Introduction

In the early 70’s an entrepreneur par excellence, Mr. Mahendra Doshi started his venture as a trader of spices. From a budding enterprise as a trader, Mr. Mahendra Doshi established a manufacturing facility, now known as “Tit-Bit Foods (India) Pvt. Ltd.” located in the port city of Navi Mumbai. 

Mr Mahendra Doshi, having been fully involved with spreading Indian culture globally, had accordingly conceptualized the product portfolio to be manufactured by ‘Tit-Bit’ in order to cater to every Indian taste bud. As a consequence of its unique product portfolio, ‘TitBit’ has won acclaim as an excellent source of Indian spices. The demand for Tit-Bit’ spices increased manifold domestically as a sign of its product excellence. The product range has been enhanced from mere spices to food products.

Mr. Mahendra Doshi passed on his business empire to his 3 enterprising sons Mr. Vijay Doshi, overseeing the entire portfolio duly supported by his brothers namely, Mr Nimesh Doshi and Mr Nikhil Doshi. In 1994 the three brothers had catapulted ‘Tit-Bit’ from a domestic player into an International player by successfully foraying into exports of ‘Tit-Bit’ Spices and Food Products across many countries like USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, West Africa and Gulf countries. The company has gained brand recognition in these countries for its product and delivery excellence.

All critical functions like drying, cleaning, grinding, blending, coating, roasting and packaging are undertaken under one roof for ease of supervision and quality compliance. Besides, “Tit-Bit’ also undertakes heat treatment to spices in line with global practices. The company employs over 200 people in the manufacturing facility.

In recognition of achieving the highest standards and manufacturing processes across the spectrum, the company has been accredited with FSSC 22000, ISO 22000:2018, Kosher, Halal, Government recognised 2 star export house. The production processes has been so optimized so as to achieve the best quality standards at most economical cost thereby the end consumer would not only get the benefit of the cost advantage but also enjoy the best in quality spices and food products.

Tit-Bit has its own in-house laboratory, to make sure that the formulation, type of sampling and the test applied are reflected in the finished products.] Work of quality control is integrated with the factory management plan. Rigid laboratory tests are carried out on parameters like moisture and ash content, levels of aflatoxin, salmonella, ecoli, etc. The guidelines of the Spices Board are strictly adhered to.
